It’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted anything. I’ve been busy developing a new rock project which so far, is fukn cool!

KPB live tonight at Amsterdam Cafe

Hey Peeps!

There was meant to be an ACOUSTIC LOUNGE happening tonight at the Amsterdam Cafe in NOHO. Since some musicians flaked, we took the open slot last minute and will perform live, as a band.

Since it's late notice, I don't figure many of you are available to come out and visit us, live and in-person-like. So for all of you, feel free to tune in after 8.30 to see what we're concocting. We're keeping it loose and open, so if you're a talented singer/mc type, don't be shy to come down and muck around.

Kamary Phillips Band Is Born Again

After several years of virtual nothingness, Kamary Phillips returns with an all new line up for an old act, KAMARY PHILLIPS BAND or KPB, that's been around the block at least once over the last decade. Follow the development of this exciting, original project right here!



The official Bio looks like this;

KAMARY PHILLIPS BAND or KPB was formed by Kamary Phillips, an American and European singer songwriter.

Kamary, who fell to obscurity following a brutal major label merger, returns to the spotlight once again performing his brilliant, soulful original catalog as well as original interpretations of rock, pop and soul classics.

KPB keeps it simple with the amazing Will Lovell (Long Beach Orchestra) playing Upright Bass, the energetic fireball known as Mark "JR." MacDonald (Wesley Music Ensemble, Plutonic) playing Drums and Kamary Phillips (Aimee Mann, Joe Cocker, Xavier Naidoo) sings and plays a mean Acoustic Guitar.

It's been a few years folks and a few crappy record deals since I last called myself KAMARY PHILLIPS in front of an audience. Well, the deals are far behind me although some of the tragedy lingers on.

Recently, I met a fine, young gent by the name of Will Lovell and after he explained to me that he plays my beloved Contra-Bass (the giant bass Jazzers bang on) I was inspired to ask him for a little jam session. About 20 minutes later, literally, we were playing music together.

A week or so later, I figured it was time for our first public outing. You know, to test the waters. Here for your listening pleasure is that wonderful sonic experience, less one song (I forgot to press record) and rest assured, there will be more to come. I dare say, I'm returning to professional music and with a vengeance. My goal, to win a Grammy. Go on, laugh it up. I'm giving myself 3 years from today. Mark it on your calendars.
